Dr. Aisha also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management in health from the University of Washington, a Postgraduate Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research, a postgraduate certificate in clinical medicine from Harvard Medical School, a diploma in computer proficiency and digital information systems, and a certificate of leadership and cross-cultural understanding.

With a career spanning 16 years, Dr. Aisha has progressively advanced, demonstrating her expertise by coordinating outbreak and emergency responses to various diseases. She has been instrumental in training healthcare workers and postgraduate residents in Disease Surveillance and Response and Data Management.

As an NSTOP Field Officer during her Clinical Epidemiology training (CDC/NFELTP), she collaborated with the World Health Organization on Polio eradication initiatives in Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Notably, she served as a resident with the National TB and Leprosy Control Program’s Monitoring and Evaluation Unit for two years (NTBLCP).

Dr. Aisha's contributions extend beyond Nigeria, as she participated in the Kaduna Hajj Medical Team (Kaduna-Saudi Arabia) in 2008, served as a National Sports Festival Medical Officer, acted as the team lead for Kaduna State Aids Indicator Survey in 2017, and served as the Country Coordinator for GFMER Switzerland in 2015.

Her clinical experience includes roles at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna and the Women and Children’s Hospital/General Hospital Kawo Kaduna. In 2015, she assumed the position of State Epidemiologist at the Kaduna State Ministry of Health. Furthering her trajectory, Dr. Aisha served as a multidisciplinary researcher at the University of Lyon France in collaboration with LAMCOS laboratories, the French Institute for Transport and Environment, alongside Minapath Laboratories France from 2019 to 2022.

Dr. Aisha has 11 publications across different fields of study in regional and international journals, she has attended over 10 international conferences and has recieved 7 awards from National and International institutions for her outstanding performances and public service.

In February 2023, Dr. Aisha Abubakar-Sadiq ascended to the role of Director of Public Health at the Kaduna State Ministry of Health. Later in September 2023, she was appointed as the Permanent Secretary, solidifying her influential position in the health sector.
