Functions of the Department
- Coordinating and supervising the provision of effective service delivery at secondary health care facilities (i.e., general hospitals).
- Mentoring service providers at the secondary health care facilities.
- Registering, supervising, and regulating private health establishments’ practices.
- Setting optimal standards (quality) of health care services and ensuring their implementation at both public and private health facilities.
- Undertaking distribution of health care commodities and supplies to public hospitals.
